Stitt Entertainment announced today it has acquired the intellectual property rights to Comic Belief, an episodic comedy series following a washed-up stand-up comic who unexpectedly becomes a pastor at an eccentric modern church after a moment of divine intervention. Comic Belief offers a humorous look at organized religion through the eyes of a morally questionable novice pastor learning the ropes at the struggling Divine Truth Fellowship congregation. When down-on-his-luck comedian Stanley Stachowski fills in for a collapsed priest at a memorial mass, he discovers a new calling ministering to a group of lovable misfits. “The writing and characters of Comic Belief captured my attention right away – it’s a smart and timely comedy about finding purpose in unexpected places,” said Robert Stitt, President of Stitt Entertainment. “I look forward to bringing this heartfelt and irreverent series to audiences who will relate to the comedic highs and lows of Stanley’s journey.” Details on creative talent attachments, casting and distribution will be announced at a later date.
